When you attend an Autocon event, there's bound to be a few must-see cars you'll see blasted across social media. For example, Los Angeles' North American premiere of the Civic Type R was huge for everyone in the automotive community. OEM, aftermarket, tuners, photographers and videographers all flocked to the stage to catch an in-person look at Honda's latest offering. With that momentum coming off of Los Angeles and building through Long Beach with Formula Drift, New York had some pretty big shoes to fill. Luckily, the tri-state area had no problem slipping into the footwear.
Among the numerous cars to fall in love with at ACNY, the Galeforce Z was front and center... literally and figuratively. It did come with it's own red carpet, after all! In profile, the Z's shape is instantly recognizable. However, moving closer to the car and walking around it quickly reveals just how much Varis' work has done to bolster and accentuate every body line of this car. Initially, the effect is fairly overwhelming with layers of carbon fiber canards and vents throughout the bodywork but upon closer inspection the individual vents and fins meld into each panel perfectly, gaps be damned.
If the bodywork isn't impressive enough, consider the fact that the first photo in the gallery below is in the middle of Manhattan and the car was driven there. No trailer for this queen, 1 of 1 in North America and 1 of 2 in the world! I'd kill to get a full feature, and will definitely try if I get up to Canada any time soon, but until then check my frames from ACNY.
